Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the resumption of intercity bus services to and from Sharjah and Ajman, following an improvement in weather conditions across the UAE. The move allows commuters to safely continue their journeys using the inter-emirate public transport network. The RTA shared the update through its official Instagram account, confirming that bus operations have returned to normal to ensure smooth and secure travel for passengers moving between Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
Intercity bus services had been temporarily suspended on December 19 as a precautionary measure due to heavy rainfall and unstable weather conditions. At the time, commuters were advised to avoid non-essential travel and to stay updated through official channels.
The suspension followed weather warnings issued by the National Centre of Meteorology, which forecast rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, strong winds, blowing dust and rough sea conditions.
These alerts prompted heightened safety measures across the transport network to protect passengers and staff. With conditions now improving, the RTA has restored services, reaffirming its commitment to passenger safety while maintaining reliable public transport connectivity across the emirates.
